Woman reports driver shot at her car after argument on freeway on 4th of July

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed a road rage shooting on a Detroit-area freeway, late at night on the Fourth of July.

At around 10:40 p.m. on Monday, a woman called 911 to report that she was driving on northbound M-39, getting on the ramp to westbound I-94, when she cut off another driver.

She and the other driver began to argue, the woman said, and while the other driver was behind her she saw him stick his arm out his car window.

The woman sad that's when she heard gunshots, although she didn't see a gun.

No one was injured, but police said they found bullet fragments in one of the woman's tires, which was damaged.

There is no description of the alleged shooter or his vehicle at this time.

MSP said the investigation is ongoing.
