After Myles Brennan's freak injury that ended LSU football's quarterback battle before it began, the Tigers QB vowed to play in Baton Rouge again.
It now appears that Brennan's next snap under center will come elsewhere, with the veteran QB entering the NCAA transfer portal, according to multiple reports.

Brennan has yet to return to practice with LSU after undergoing surgery to repair a broken left arm. He suffered the injury when he tripped and fell while preparing for the final fishing trip of his offseason. He's resumed throwing, but there had yet to be a date set for his return. Max Johnson has served as the starter in his absence, leading LSU to a 4-4 record.
It's the second consecutive season marred by injuries for Brennan. His 2020 season ended after three-plus games due to a core muscle injury, suffered after a long wait and multiple quarterback battles before getting a chance at the Tigers' starting gig. He's the second LSU quarterback to opt for the transfer portal, with TJ Finley shipping out to Auburn before the season.
Brennan's impending transfer is the latest bit of adversity for a Tigers squad that has already learned its coach will be let go at the end of the season. Freshman Garrett Nussmeier has served as the backup throughout the season, getting his first significant action late in a blowout loss to Ole Miss.
