It's been over a year since Alvin Kamara got to celebrate a touchdown with 70,000 of his New Orleans friends.

And if the Saints star running back gets into the end zone in Week 4, the first home game at the Caesars Superdome this season due to Hurricane Ida, he plans to greet them in person.

Kamara says he'd plan to jump in and the fans in the newly built field-level suites at the edges of the Superdome field.

“Oh yea, I’m definitely going to be in there," Kamara said Thursday, flashing his signature grin. "I said that when we practiced in the dome during camp. I was like ‘i’m jumping right in there.’ … Everything goes."

And what about the barrier?

“It’ll be all right," Kamara said. "I’ll jump higher.”

If the celebration does happen, it won't be the first time he or Saints teammates have climbed up to celebrate big moments with fans. Though it'll be the first time a player has had much contact with the cheering Saints faithful since the 2019 season. While fans were allowed in the building for games starting midway through last season, it was at a significantly limited capacity.

With capacity limits removed, Kamara said he's fully aware what his team getting back into its house will mean to south Louisiana as they face the New York Giants on Sunday.

“This city is fueled by the Saints," Kamara said. "So just being able to get back in there after a year of not being able to be in there. And then obviously with the hurricane and everything. It’s just something to take everybody’s mind off of what’s going on. We’re excited. I know the city’s excited. We’re just ready."
