NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two men were arrested on Staten Island on Tuesday for allegedly having more than $6,000 worth of illegal fireworks, the FDNY said.
Matthew King, 35, and Rayval Singh, 22, are expected to be charged with reckless endangerment and unlawful dealing of fireworks for having more than $6,000 worth of fireworks in their possession, the department said in a post on Instagram.
Fire marshals arrested the pair while "investigating and conducting surveillance to curtail the extensive illegal fireworks condition in our city," the post said.
"Fireworks are illegal in New York City," the department wrote. "FDNY urges all New Yorkers to call 311 to anonymously report the use, delivery or sale of fireworks."
"If you see something dangerous, call 911," the department added.
King and Singh's attorney information wasn't immediately available Tuesday.
