
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two NHL players were charged with beating up their roommate over a bill from 1 OAK nightclub on Sunday police say.Police say Frank “Sonny” Milano, a forward with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and Anthony-John “A.J.” Greer, a forward with the Colorado Avalanche, were arrested in their West Village apartment on misdemeanor assault charges for attacking their 28-year-old roommate.
Authorities responded to a 911 call at 5:30 a.m. for an assault in progress in the apartment on W. Houston St. near Sullivan St., where their roommate had visible bruises and complained of injuries to his torso and the left side of his jaw, the Daily News reports.
Police sources said the three had returned from a night out partying at 1 OAK, a nightclub in Chelsea, where a friend of their roommate promised them table service for $600 each.But the hockey players were later told they owed a little over $1,000 and became enraged, blaming their roommate and allegedly beating him.Milano and Greer both 23-years-old, were briefly held at the 6th Precinct stationhouse before being issued summonses to appear in court at a later date and released.The victim refused medical attention.
