NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A suspect is in custody after an armed security guard was shot several times in the leg while working at a Target store that's currently under construction, according to the NYPD.
A neighbor tells 1010 WINS that he heard several gunshots, "I was home about 5:20 to 6 this morning, I think I heard like four or five shots."
Detectives were able to track down a suspect within hours of the shooting, due to eye witness accounts and evidence at the scene of the incident on East 29th Street and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan.
Officials believe this incident began as a dispute.
EMS transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
