NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A bicyclist is in critical condition after being struck by an SUV in Brooklyn early Friday, officials said.
According to police, at around 3:15 a.m., the 56-year-old driver of a 2019 Chevy had the green light when headed eastbound on Linden Boulevard in East New York.
That's when the 25-year-old cyclist attempted to head north at the Ashford Street intersection against traffic, authorities added.
The SUV driver crashed into the cyclist, who suffered severe head trauma and a broken left leg, police said.
He was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver remained on the scene.
