Black History Month Trivia
Feb. 23, 2 p.m.- 5 p.m.
Test your knowledge of black history and pop culture at trivia night. Tickets are $20 and you can come and compete in a randomly assigned group or bring your crew.
Queens Botanical Garden - George Washington Carver Workshop
Feb. 20, 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Learn about the “Wizard of Tuskegee,” Dr. George Washington Carver and all of the significant contributions he made in the field of botany. Students will follow in Dr. Carver’s steps, using plants to paint and to create a healing lotion to take home. Registration required.
Apollo Music Café - Pitch Slapped
Feb. 7, 9 p.m.
Experience the power of the human voice at the Apollo with the a capella group Pitch Slapped. You’ll be blown away by their melodic voice and vocal arraignments.

Brooklyn Poetry Slam

Some of Brooklyn’s best slam poets will gather for a night of words and wisdom. The Slam will be followed by an Open Mic and all are encouraged to make your voice heard.
Harlem Heritage Tours
Get a unique look into the history of soul food and jazz in New York City. The tour will dive deep into historic landmarks including the original Cotton Club.
Weeksville Heritage Center

Discover the history of community of Weeksville, Brooklyn. The museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the 19th century African American community of Weeksville, one of America’s many free black communities.
