NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A stretch of 34th Street and Seventh Avenue remains closed after a boom crane collapse near Penn Station Monday night.
The train was removed at around 6:25 a.m. Tuesday and 34th Street has reopened, 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck reported.
However, traffic is still impacted in the area and work is being done to repair the sidewalk.
The construction crane collapsed near Penn Station on Monday night after the 63-year-old operator suffered a minor foot injury, Schuck reported.
The crane was reportedly lifting high beams when it collapsed around 10:15 p.m., just outside the Kmart which forced 34th Street and 7th Avenue to close in both directions.
The New York City Department of Buildings asked Con Edison and other utilities to check on Penn Station for any damage.
