NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Gov. Cuomo ordered a city and state investigation Sunday into what he calls a "despicable and cowardly" bomb threat aimed at Times Square.
The governor and the NYPD both say there's no indication the threat is credible.
Nevertheless, state police will be working with the NYPD to increase patrols in the Times Square area, Cuomo said in a statement.
City, state and federal authorities are coordinating on an investigation in the meantime.
"The bomb threat made against Times Square is a despicable and cowardly act meant to instill fear and panic in our community, and New Yorkers will not tolerate these scare tactics," Cuomo said in the statement.
Law enforcement sources told NBC4 that the threat was posted to Reddit and that a woman called 911 early Sunday morning to report it.
