NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Gov. Andrew Cuomo called out people seen crowding outside restaurants and bars in the East Village on Friday night for ignoring measures to combat the coronavirus.

“Don't make me come down there...” Cuomo tweeted Saturday along with video showing a packed St. Mark's Place between Avenue A and First Avenue.

In the video, many people weren’t wearing masks or social-distancing as they packed sidewalks and live music played.

Other videos show similar scenes in the East Village and across Manhattan Friday night.

While restaurants have remained open for pickup and delivery during the pandemic, they aren’t allowed to offer outdoor dining until Phase 2 of reopening. Mayor Bill de Blasio has said he hopes the city could enter Phase 2 later this month or in early July.
