NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Friday warned residents to take precautions as temperatures rise over the weekend in what may be the state's first heatwave.
"This weekend, New York will experience a potentially dangerous heat wave. I urge everyone to take precautions as high temperatures are expected to last through Sunday. Check your local weather forecasts for the most up-to-date information," he tweeted.
Hot and humid temperatures are expected in New York City with a high of 91 degrees on Saturday.
Even hotter temperatures can be expected for Sunday and Monday with RealFeel near or above 100.
