Foul play suspected after woman found dead inside Bronx apartment: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was found dead, with severe head trauma on the living room floor of her Bronx apartment on Sunday, investigators say.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., police discovered an unresponsive 61-year-old woman with severe head trauma lying on the living room floor of a first floor apartment of the Castle Hill houses located at 2160 Seward Avenue.

EMS pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Police say there appears to be foul play and are investigating the incident as a suspected homicide.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation remains ongoing.
