NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are looking for a gunman that left two men injured inside a Bronx bodega.
One man was shot and another pistol-whipped, police say.
Officials say the incident occurred inside the Day and Night Deli on Adee Avenue in Allerton at approximately 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The suspect walked into the store and shot 30-year-old Abdu Salman once in his torso, officials say.A man who happened to walk into the deli at the same time as the shooting, apparently recognized the gunman and confronted him.The men got into a fight and the gunman pistol-whipped the witness who was able to take the suspect's gun as he fled the store, authorities say.
The witness turned the suspect's gun over to the police.The bodega clerk was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where he was listed in critical, but stable condition.The witness was also treated at Jacobi Medical Center for minor injuries.
Police are not sure whether the incident stemmed from a robbery or personal dispute.
The investigation remains ongoing.
