NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Hate speech was found on the wall of a Staten Island synagogue Thursday morning.
The words “synagogue of Satan” were written on the wall of the Chabad of Staten Island in Meiers Corners on Harold Street.
The message “SOS,” presumably short-hand for “synagogue of Satan” was spray-painted on the Yeshiva Zichron Paltiel of Staten Island across the street.
The messages were written just as Jews are beginning Lag B’Omer a holiday which centers on celebrating Jewish unity.
Authorities say the NYPD is aware of the hate speech and is investigating.
