NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a group of suspects after a video was released early Wednesday of two men being brutally beaten in the Bronx.
The attack happened just before 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Third Avenue and E 164th Street in the Morrisania section.
Officials say the attackers approached the victims, ages 29 and 60, and demanded their property.
The victims attempted to flee, but were chased by the robbers, police say.
Surveillance video shows one of the robbers as he grabbed the 29-year-old victim, spinning him and throwing him to the floor.
The attacker then jumped up stomped the victim repeatedly.The suspect then continued to punch the man in the face when a second attacker jumped in.Police say the 60-year-old victim attempted to defend himself from the attackers and lifted a garbage can.Authorities say at that point the victim was beaten so badly that he had to be rushed over to nearby Lincoln Hospital, where he was reported in critical but stable condition.The 29-year-old victim refused medical help at the scene.
The robbers ended up with just $1 from their victims.Officials ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
