Man allegedly stabs victim after subway seat dispute in Manhattan, stabs good Samaritan during police chase

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police say 40-year-old Ronald Cundiff is accused of stabbing a 55-year-old rider following a dispute over a seat on a southbound A train approaching the Canal Street station in Tribeca on Tuesday.

Cundiff is accused of then stabbing a good Samaritan who tried to intervene during a police chase.The incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m., and Cundiff allegedly stabbed the victim in the torso aboard the train.Police said Cundiff exited the train at Canal Street.The victim called 911, and saw his alleged attacker as he was being treated by emergency responders.Police then chased Cundiff, who ran to 75 Bowery Street where he stabbed a 21-year-old good Samaritan in the shoulder for attempting to stop him.Cundiff was arrested and charged with two counts of assault, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and reckless endangerment.
