NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a man they said attacked and mugged a woman at gunpoint in Brooklyn before trying to rape her.
The 38-year-old woman was walking on Crystal Street, near Pitkin Avenue, in East New York around 11:30 p.m. Thursday when the man came up to her with a gun, police said.
The man assaulted the woman and stole $12 from her before telling her to get on the ground, according to police.
Police said the man pulled down the woman's pants before fleeing the scene.
The condition of the woman wasn't immediately known.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect this weekend.
