NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD has questioned a 25-year-old man in the shooting death of a baby boy in Brooklyn on Sunday.
Dashawn Austin was questioned in the case Thursday but not charged, according to WABC.
While Austin wasn't charged in the death of 1-year-old Davell Gardner Jr., he was reportedly charged in the death of a 26-year-old man who was shot outside the Amour Cabaret Strip Club on Nostrand Avenue back on March 3.
Police think Austin may have information about the shooting at a barbecue that killed Gardner.
Earlier this week, the NYPD released surveillance video of two suspects opening fire near the Raymond Bush Playground in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 11 p.m. Sunday.
One of the bullets hit Gardner in the stomach, the NYPD said. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A 35-year-old man who was shot in the groin, a 36-year-old man who was shot in the leg and a 27-year-old man who was shot in the ankle were all expected to survive.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
