NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- NYPD is investigating after a man was shot on a Bronx subway platform Tuesday morning.Police say it happened just after 6:30 a.m. on the northbound platform of the Simpson Street station in the Longwood area.
The victim was transported to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition and is being uncooperative with police, News12 reports.
The gunman fled before police arrived.
He is in stable condition at and is at this time.
The MTA has confirmed that the 2 and 5 trains are not stopping at Simpson Street because of an NYPD investigation at the station.
Station employees report a Black man in a blue shirt and blue hat opened fire in the station.
The incident prompted the 2 and 5 subway trains to bypass the Simpson Street station, but service has since resumed.
