NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was shot dead during a baptism celebration in the Bronx early Sunday.
Police responded to a 911 call of a male shot on August 25, just before 3:30 a.m., at Rochambeau Avenue and Bainbridge Avenue.
Officers found 46-year-old Edgar Perez had suffered a gunshot wound to the back.
EMS transported the victim to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
The Daily News reports that the gunman's girlfriend arrived at the party before him, and he went mad when she was inside but was denied entry.
The shooter then began to shoot, hitting Perez, the Daily News reports.
The gunman fled, and an arrest has not been made.
