NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man in connection with a random unprovoked assault with a bottle in Manhattan, police said.
On August 23, at 1:22 p.m., a 66-year-old man was walking westbound on West 129th Street and Convent Avenue when officials said the suspect struck him from behind in the back of the head repeatedly with a bottle.
The victim fell to the ground and the suspect continued to strike the victim several more times before fleeing westbound on West 129th Street toward Amsterdam Avenue, authorities said.
He suffered pain, swelling, and scratches to his head and face, however, he refused medical attention until a later date police said.Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
