WATCH: Maskless group smokes hookah, dances on MTA bus in Queens

Party Bus

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A group of unmasked people packed an MTA bus in Queens early Sunday morning, dancing and smoking hookah in an incident that was caught on video.

The B48 bus had just left Grand Avenue Bus Depot around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday with no passengers when its driver had to stop because a number of double parked cars were blocking the route, the MTA said.

When the bus driver tried to get the cars to move, dozens of people filed onto the bus, and the revelry began, according to the agency.

The revelers were on the bus for about 15 minutes, the MTA said. The bus was disinfected after the incident, the agency noted.

"This group not only put themselves at risk, based on the fact that no one was wearing a mask, but more important to me, they put my bus operator at risk," MTA Bus President Craig Cipriano said in a statement. "Bus operators are out there moving the city — they've been doing so since March. In this egregious, egregious video, no one was wearing masks, and it's very important to keep that in mind as we take the next step in working with law enforcement."
