LONG BRANCH, N.J. — A NJ Transit train collided with a Long Branch police vehicle in Long branch on Monday morning.
The police car was stopped on the tracks when the train struck it on the track at the Brighton Avenue grade crossing, an NJ Transit spokesperson said.
Some sort of transmission malfunction caused the vehicle to not be able to be taken out of park, Long Branch police said.
No injuries were reported but trains on the North Jersey Coast Line will be delayed up to 30 minutes in both directions, NJ TRANSIT announced.
