NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New York state has finally debuted its commemorative 9/11 license plate.
The license plate reads "9-11-01 NEVER FORGET" alongside a silhouettes of civilians and first responders. The bottom of the license plate reads "United We Stand."
New York joins at least 13 other states -- including New Jersey and Connecticut -- which have similar license plates.
“It’s something that should have been done a long time ago,” John Feal, an advocate for Ground Zero rescuDisable SCAYTe and recovery workers, who helped DMV staffers design the plates, told the New York Post.
He added, "I made it clear I didn’t want anything to bring back bad memories."
