NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching 22-year-old Fabian Elison in connection to the milk-dumping incident on an NYPD officer in the Bronx.
Police say Elison dumped a half-gallon of milk on an officer during a confrontation between officers and residents that were upset they had to evacuate because of a fire.
The milk-dumping comes weeks after a series of incidents in which NYPD officers were doused with water across the city.
Police have some video evidence to work with as they try to track down the suspect.
Police say the officer was trying to keep people from interfering with firefighters who were trying to put out an apartment fire on the Grand Concourse in the Claremont section this week.
People who were told to evacuate weren’t happy about it. They were seen tangling with police in video that shows them pushing and shoving officers.
Some residents claim officers then pepper sprayed them, so one man doused an officer with a half-gallon of milk.
“They got milked on!” one man says in video of the incident.
Police say if the milk-thrower is caught he’ll be charged with assault.
On WFAN's "Boomer and Gio" show Friday, NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill said, “People have to know that if you disrespect a cop, something’s going to happen.”
“I don’t know if this is news to New Yorkers—disrespecting cops,” O'Neill said. “This isn’t something that just started happening in 2019. We’ve been dealing with this for a long time, and I’m glad it’s come to the surface.”
“There has to be consequences for disrespecting police officers,” he said. “These people can’t just walk.”
