NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a man who they say slugged a pharmacy worker in the face after he was caught stuffing a bar of soap down his pants.

The NYPD released video of the suspect this weekend following Wednesday’s attack.

They say the thief was caught red-handed by an employee at the Rite Choice Pharmacy on 170th Street in the Bronx.

But instead of handing the bar of Cetaphil soap over, police say the suspect punched the 60-year-old worker in the face multiple times.

He then fled with the $5.29 bar of soap, police say.

The employee suffered cuts to the left side of his face but refused medical attention.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
