NYPD officer hospitalized in critical condition after falling ill in East Village police station: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An NYPD officer was hospitalized in critical condition after he was reportedly found unconscious and surrounded by vomit in a police station in the East Village.

The 45-year-old officer, who was on-duty at the time, was found unresponsive shortly before 4 a.m. Friday in the Police Service Area 4 building at Avenue C and E. 8th Street, law enforcement sources told the New York Post.

The sources said he was discovered lying in the lounge of the station near vomit not long after he told his boss, a sergeant, he was feeling ill and asked to lie down.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his current condition was not known Saturday.
