NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez didn’t hold back when talking about President Trump in a 60 Minutes interview that aired Sunday night.
The newly-elected New York representative told Anderson Cooper that she thinks the president is a racist.

“The president certainly didn't invent racism,” she said. “But he's certainly given a voice to it and expanded it and created a platform for those things.”
When asked if she thought the president is racist, she responded: “Yeah, yeah. No question.”
Calling Trump’s words “historic dog whistles of white supremacy,” Ocasio-Cortez pointed to his comments about immigrants and his reaction to the killing of a woman by a white supremacist in Charlottesville in 2017 as examples of racism.
“When you look at how he reacted to the Charlottesville incident, where neo-Nazis murdered a woman, versus how he manufactures crises like immigrants seeking legal refuge on our borders – it's night and day,” she said.
The White House called her characterization of the president “pure ignorance,” saying he has repeatedly condemned racism and bigotry in all forms and recently signed a criminal justice reform bill aimed at making sure minorities are not unjustly jailed.
When Cooper asked her about her "radical agenda," Ocasio-Cortez also embraced the label.
"I think that it only has ever been radicals that have changed this country," she said.
