NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An all around crappy situation is unfolding on the Lower East Side, where someone is throwing dirty diapers out their window to the disgust of residents.

And we're not just talking a few dirty diapers...

Almost two dozen feces-filled diapers have been flung from an apartment window at a public housing complex on Essex Street, according to the New York Post.

The soiled diapers have been piling up on an awning above the first-floor of the Seward Park Extension at 64-66 Essex St.

Other diapers have splattered on the sidewalk: "I walk quickly," one resident told the Post.

Neighbors think it's just plain crappy, with one construction worker nearby describing them as "aerial bombs" filled with "the brown plague."

Residents say it's been happening for months but the diaper-launcher is still at large.

NYCHA says it's trying to wipe things up and has sent letters to the tenants reminding them about basic human decency.

The agency is also setting up a time for the awning and street to be cleaned for safety and health reasons.
