NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Private vehicles will be banned by the city on 14th Street in Manhattan to clear the street for buses while L train repairs take place.

The ban will start in June approximately a month after L train construction begins.

The closure will take effect between Third Avenue and Ninth Avenue.

Trucks making pick ups or drop offs on 14th Street are exempt from the ban.

Trains are currently suspended on weeknights between Lorimer Street in Brooklyn and Eighth Avenue in Manhattan from 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.
