Queens man trafficked girls for sex at hotel near JFK Airport: DA

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Queens man held two girls, ages 16 and 17, against their will at a hotel near JFK Airport, where he forced them to have sex with strangers, prosecutors said.

Tyrone Miles, 29, allegedly had sex with the 16-year-old and forced both girls to have sex with men for cash at the JFK Inn on South Conduit Avenue in Jamaica. He then pocketed the money for himself, prosecutors said.

Miles used “brute force and threats to control and exploit the teenagers” while staying at the hotel between June 5 and at least June 12, according to Queens DA Melinda Katz.

The money was collected by an older woman, who remains at large, Katz said in a statement.

When the 16-year-old refused to have sex with the men, Miles allegedly told her, “I will kill you.” He also hit her in the face and body when she tried to leave the hotel, prosecutors allege.

Miles was arraigned Thursday on charges of compelling prostitution, sex trafficking, sex trafficking of a child, promoting prostitution in the second degree and rape in the third degree.

He faces 10 to 50 years in prison if convicted.
