NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 12-year-old boy, described as having special needs, is lucky to be alive after he was struck by a 1 train in upper Manhattan Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened at the Dyckman Street subway station around 5 p.m.
The boy suffered a serious leg injury, but he was taken to Columbia University Medical Center conscious and alert.
There was no 1 train service in either direction between Van Cortland Park-242 St and 145 St.
