NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Thousands of Facebook and Instagram users were unable to share their Thanksgiving day pictures Thursday morning.
According to Downdetector, there were over 3,000 reports by 9:15 a.m. of Facebook being down and that increased to 7,200 in just 30 minutes.
There were also over 5,000 reports of Instagram outages at approximately 9 a.m. and it skyrocketted to 19,000 at about 10 a.m.
Most of the outage reports for both Facebook and Instagram came from the Northeast, the webiste reports.
When users log into Facebook, an error message saying "Facebook is down for required maintenance right now, but you should be able to get back on within a few minutes." is what is shown.
