NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Trains were bypassing West 4th Street-Washington Square in Greenwich Village on Monday evening as authorities investigated a report of smoke at the station, the MTA said.

A, B, C, D, E, F and M trains were bypassing the station in both directions as of 7:15 p.m. on Monday, the MTA said.

A photo posted to social media showed smoke on a platform at the station.

The MTA asked riders to use the nearby Christopher Street-Sheridan Square station instead.
