NEW YORK (1010 WINS) —Two women were killed and a man was injured in a house fire on Long Island early Monday.
The fire broke out at about 1:30 a.m. early Monday morning on Sinn Street in North Patchogue.
Suffolk Police Detective Lieutenant Kevin Buyrer says three officers pushed their way into the home to bring out a 47-year-old man they found in the basement.
"They then attempted to enter the main part of the house from the basement," Buyrer says, "They were then turned back by the flames."
He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
After the fire was extinguished, he says the bodies of two women were located upstairs.
Police identified them as 54-year-old Kimberley Bonsignore and 56-year-old Brenda Richardson.
