NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Andrew Yang announced on "The View" on Thursday that he is launching a new nonprofit called Humanity Forward.
The former Democratic presidential candidate explained that the new non profit will champion the main ideas of Yang's campaign including "universal basic income for all Americans, an economy that works for us, and the fact that our data should be ours, even if we're loaning it to the tech companies," Yang said.
"The movement continues - it’s time for a human-centered America," Yang tweeted.
Yang said that so far, they already have pledges of $3 million that will be given away to "every day Americans around the country" in the days ahead.
The goal is to "build a movement," according to Yang said. He added that this will a grass roots organization in the months ahead. "One person who supports Humanity Forward in the month of March will get $1,000 a month for a full year just to show that we can make this economy work for us the people of this country."
When asked if he would be running for New York City mayor, he answered "I'm looking to solve problems, and add as much value as I can."
"I'm more attracted to executive roles than I am legislative roles," he added.
Yang also commented on Senator Elizabeth Warren suspending her presidential campaign.
"They're going through a really emotional process right now," Yang said. "Her campaign team worked very, very hard."
He added that on many levels, he was stunned at the results of Super Tuesday.
