CLIFTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- One person was killed and multiple people were injured in a multi-car crash that shut down part of the Garden State Parkway on Wednesday night.
The crash unfolded near milepost 154.8 in Clifton around 8:20 p.m., according to state police.
At least one vehicle overturned and another was crushed in the crash, which appeared to involve at least four vehicles, according to NorthJersey.com. A number of vehicles appeared to be off the roadway.
Sgt. Lawrence Peele said one person was killed and multiple people injured in the crash.
All northbound lanes were closed for at least several hours as traffic was diverted.
Police haven't said what may have caused the crash.
