A Connecticut Marshal attempted to serve a formal eviction order to a residence on Sylvester Court in Norwalk around 9 am., authorities said.
The officer was met by a group of 15-20 people who were "interfering with his ability to perform his duties," according to police.

More officers were called to the scene to assist. Just before they arrived, a 59-year-old man who was the subject of the eviction order refused to leave.

A 48-year-old man, who was identified as an associate of the 59-year-old, came after officers with an axe and refused to put it down, officials said. The man complied with the orders after the cop took out a taser.

Both of the men were arrested at the scene. The 48-year-old man was charged with menacing officers.

"It is important to note that all other protesters and bystanders were very peaceful. We thank them for their cooperation and the area residents for their understanding," officials said in a statement.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
