Adrian Joseph is a citizen of St. Lucia, but he’s been living in Bridgeport for decades as a U.S. citizen.

He obtained a U.S. passport, a social security card, a voting registration card and a driver’s license under the stolen identity using fraudulent documents.

The government caught wind of Joseph’s identity theft scheme when the man whose identity he was using reported his documents were stolen in the 1990s.

He’s been detained in jail since Jan. 31, 2021.

He pleaded guilty to use of a passport secured by a false statement and false representation of a social security number, for which he faces up to 15 years in prison.

Sentencing by a federal court judge is scheduled for Oct. 25.
