In June, Shameik Camara admitted to stealing a shipment of 50 Zigana Model PX-9G2 pistols and other goods from R&L Carriers’ South Windsor warehouse.

Investigators found Camara when they saw his Facebook Marketplace and Offer Up postings for other items he stole from the warehouse around the same time.

Police found two of the stolen weapons on him when they arrested him Oct. 28, 2021.

He took a plea deal for possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of items from an interstate shipment on June 14.

“In August 2021, 50 firearms stolen from a South Windsor warehouse became illegal guns on the street,” said U.S. Attorney Vanessa Roberts Avery. “To date, only 14 of the stolen guns have been recovered. The 36 that remain unaccounted for represent a real danger to the community until each one is recovered.”

Camara was also sentenced to three years supervised release.
