BELLEVILLE, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- One person was killed in a fiery crash on a New Jersey highway early Tuesday, Belleville police Lt. John McAloon said.
The collision happened at about 4:30 a.m., on the northbound side of the roadway near exit 7, about a half-mile north of Main Street in Belleville, police said.
Responding firefighters put out a black Dodge Dart that had been fully engulfed in flames, officials said.
One person, who has not been identified, was found in the driver's seat of the vehicle.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Route 21 was closed after the crash, which remains under investigation.
