Driver sought after hit-run seriously injures woman, 39, in Suffolk

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A 39-year-old woman was left seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Suffolk County, police said Tuesday.

The woman was hit on Dec. 29 at 7:10 p.m. while attempting to cross New York Avenue, just south of Huntington Public Library, in Huntington.

The gray four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Sentra or Altima, fled the scene southbound on New York Avenue, according to police.

The victim, 39, was airlifted with serious injuries to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Police released an image of the suspect's vehicle Tuesday.
