
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One person was injured when a fire broke out in a Lower East Side apartment on Tuesday, fire officials said.
The flames broke out at 1:35 a.m. in a fourth-floor apartment of the six-story building on Broome Street near Ridge Street, according to the FDNY.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in just under 15 minutes, officials said.
One person was transported to Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Fire marshals continue to investigate the blaze which is not believed to be suspicious.
