NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Haven't we seen this bee-fore?! An officer from the NYPD’s bee response unit was back in Times Square this week to remove 10,000 bees—about two weeks after a swarm of 25,000 was relocated from the Crossroads of the World.

NYPD Officer Darren Mays removed the bees from a recycling receptacle outside 3 Times Square on Tuesday afternoon, according to the New York Post.

Photos show Mays using a vacuum to suck up the bees, which had also made their way into a Pepsi can.

“It's been a BEE-SY few weeks for Officers Mays,” the NYPD tweeted. “Exactly two weeks after our initial bee swarm in Times Square, he was back at the same area but this time for a smaller swarm. Approximately 10,000 bees were taken away and safely relocated.”

On July 6, Mays removed 25,000 bees from a planter area in Times Square.

Those bees were also safely removed and relocated to the Hudson Valley, “where they will live out the rest of their lives,” the NYPD said.
