NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two construction workers were seriously hurt when they were crushed by a concrete ceiling during a building collapse at Orchard Beach in the Bronx’s Pelham Bay Park, according to FDNY officials.

The ceiling reportedly caved in around 10:56 a.m. near the intersection of Orchard Beach Road and Park Drive.

Emergency responders rushed both workers to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. One of the workers is in critical condition and the other is in serious condition, but both are stable, authorities said.
