2 injured after arsonist sets fire to LES salon: officials

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after an arsonist poured gasoline and set a Manhattan salon on fire Sunday injuring two people, according to authorities.

It happened just after 5 p.m. at the Sa Sa II Beauty Salon, located at 129 Eldridge Street near Broome Street on the Lower East Side when the suspect poured gasoline inside the location then set it ablaze, officials said.

A 46-year-old man suffered burns to his chest and arms and a 60-year-old woman was burned on her face and back, authorities said.

They were both taken to New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition, the NYPD said.

Officials have not made any arrests and have not yet released a description of the suspect.
