VIDEO: 2 men on scooter wanted in string of Bronx jewelry robberies

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Tuesday released video footage of two suspects riding a scooter who are sought in a string of jewelry robberies in the Bronx, authorities said.

The first incident happened at approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, a 42-year-old man was approached by two suspects who were riding on a scooter at University Avenue and West 180 Street in University Heights.


One of the suspects hopped off the scooter and displayed a firearm at the victim, officials said.

The suspect then stole the victim's chain and wallet, which contained personal ID, credit cards and $800 cash, cops said.

The suspects then fled on the scooter traveling northbound on University Avenue.

About 15 mins later, 50-year-old ma was was sitting on the front steps of in front of 64 East 183rd St. when he was approached by the two suspects who were riding on a scooter, authorities said.

One of the suspects hopped off the scooter and displayed a firearm at the victim and demanded the chain he was wearing.

The suspect stole the victim's chain and both suspects then fled on the scooter traveling northbound on Walton Avenue, police said.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were walking in front of 1830 Boone Ave. when they were approached by both suspects who were riding on a scooter.

One of the suspects hopped off the scooter and displayed a firearm at the victims and demanded their property, the NYPD said.

The suspect took the victims' property, including their shoes, two chains, and $1,500 cash, according to police.

Both suspects then fled on the scooter traveling in an unknown direction.

The victims were not injured in any incident, officials said.

The suspects are described as two men approximately in their 20s, with medium skin complexion and thin builds.
