The 14-year-old died at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem after being shot in the head while leaving a deli near E. 128th Street and Park Avenue around 4:20 p.m.

The victim was later identified as Justin Streeter, of Plainfield, New Jersey.

Neighbors said he had recently moved from the neighborhood with family and had returned to say goodbye.

The 15-year-old was shot in the leg and taken to the same hospital in stable condition.

Police said the two teens were targeted by a man as they left a deli near the shooting scene. The man fired at the boys from a street corner, striking both of them before fleeing.

No arrests had been reported as of Wednesday.

NYPD Chief Of Patrol Jeffrey Maddrey expressed frustration during a news conference.

“We shouldn’t have to suffer due to gun violence,” Maddrey said. “This is the best city in the world. We shouldn’t be scared to walk out in our streets in broad daylight, in the middle of the afternoon, and feel like we’re going to be the victims of gun violence.”
