2 women unintentionally shot on Bronx MTA bus after argument turns violent outside school

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two women were unintentionally shot on a Bronx MTA bus Saturday after an argument between two men outside a middle school turned violent, according to police.

The unidentified men were arguing around 3:21 p.m. at the corner of Westchester Avenue and Tinton Avenue in Melrose, police said.

One of the men fired a gun at a moving BX4 Bus that was pulling away from a nearby stop, according to authorities.

Two women were reportedly struck, and the suspect fled in a red vehicle.

Emergency responders rushed both victims to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.

Officials have not yet announced their ages or where they were hit.

The shooting took place across the street from the South Bronx Early College Academy, a charter school for kids in grades six through eight.

Police have not yet made any arrests, and an investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
